After he finished school in LA and before he settled down in the Black Hills of South Dakota, Don Mueller went into the desert. He and his pal Don McKenzie had their camera gear, a jeep, supplies and sunglasses. The excursion into the sandstone arches of Utah and the cacti smattered deserts of Arizona, was known only as, "ex-pe-di-teeon Moab."
